Built with: Python 3 and Qt6. Development happens openly on GitHub, inspired by the earlier R package RQDA.
Project structure: a .qda folder contains a SQLite database plus imported files, and an ai_data folder if AI is enabled. Settings and logs live in the hidden .qualcoder folder in your home directory.
Database: the docs describe each table (files, cases, codes, coded text, attributes, journals and more) for people who want to write SQL queries. Text positions are counted in characters; audio and video positions in milliseconds.
Licence: LGPL v3, so QualCoder is free to use, share and modify.
Contributing: anyone can help by translating the interface or the docs, or by contributing code via GitHub. Documentation lives as Markdown files in the qualcoder-org.github.io repository.
